CNC & machine tools

Computers serving CNC machines, lathes and injection-moulding machines — as the operator display, collecting production counts, or running CAM software. The machine vibrates continuously with the spindle, cutting-oil mist settles on every surface, and metal chips fly everywhere.

A Panel PC mounted right on the machine body as the operator display — taking the full dose of vibration, oil mist and chips. The front face takes the most punishment: oil builds up into a film and workers wipe it with a wet rag every shift.

Washable front. Cutting-oil mist builds up into a film, and workers wipe it with a wet rag every shift. An IP65 front stands up to that. Anything less lets water and oil creep into the display bezel, and it fails from the edges in.

Where people get caught out

Things the filter above does NOT catch. Read before you commit.

  • Vibration is the hardest criterion, and datasheets state it very inconsistently. Look for MIL-STD-810G or a Grms figure — if there is no number, don’t guess, ask us directly. The filter above does NOT check the vibration rating — that data column is not yet reliable enough for automatic filtering.
  • Spinning hard drives fail fast under vibration. Configurations mounted on machine tools should use SSDs, and connectors should be the screw-locking kind, not plain push-in plugs.
