Our cold store runs at -25 to -30 °C with workers going in and out all day. What should we watch for with computers and touch screens inside?

A cold store challenges a machine in three places: cold start-up, condensation, and operation with gloves. Temperature range: choose a machine rated to operate at -30 °C or lower (common wide-temp lines state -40…70 °C). Note the word operating: some units tolerate -40 °C only in storage and run from 0 °C. Many need a heater circuit or delayed start so the SSD and LCD warm up. Condensation: every time a machine is carried out of the store, moisture forms on the boards. Keep the machine installed inside, and choose one with conformal coating and a sealed enclosure. Display: LCDs respond more slowly in deep cold. Capacitive touch needs a glove mode; if workers wear thick gloves, a resistive screen or an industrial keypad can be easier to use. Power and cables: use cold-rated cable, because standard PVC jackets turn brittle and crack.
