We need to mount computers on forklifts, AGVs and delivery trucks. How is that different from a machine inside an electrical cabinet?

Vehicles bring three things a cabinet rarely sees: an unstable battery supply, constant vibration, and shutdown driven by the ignition key. Power: a 12 V or 24 V battery can dip deeply during engine cranking and spike when a large load is disconnected. Choose a machine with a wide input range (for example 9–36 VDC or 9–48 VDC) that states its transient tolerance to ISO 7637-2. Vehicles with 48 V or 80 V batteries need an isolated DC-DC converter. Ignition control: the machine reads the key signal, waits a few seconds to a few minutes, then shuts down in order, protecting data and avoiding a drained battery. Mechanics: fanless design, SSD storage, screw-locking or M12 connectors, and a shock-absorbing mount. If the vehicle runs on public roads, ask for E-Mark certification of the exact model. A screen mounted on a vehicle used outdoors needs at least 1000 nits of brightness.
